The Department of Justice (DOJ), Bureau of Immigration (BI), and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will jointly file deportation and misrepresentation charges against the sister and business associate of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo.

Guo’s sister Sheila and business associate Cassandra Li Ong are alleged representatives for Lucky South 99 POGO in Porac, Pampanga, while the former mayor herself is being tagged for her alleged ownership of Baofu Land Development Inc. in Bamban, Tarlac, where Zun Yuan Technology is located.

In a Friday press briefing, Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Mico Clavano said they will go through the proper process and act conservatively to make sure there will be no ‘holes’ in the filing of charges.

“We are taking the President’s directive very seriously; this is something that is of national significance. We understand how important this is to the country, the President, and the international community, so we should not be embarrassed by our investigation,” Clavano said.

“This is the first time that the Senate and the House [of Representatives] already have an order of arrest and we also have reason to take custody and charge them with several crimes,” he added.

While Sheila and Ong are now under NBI custody, they will be presented either in the Senate or the House upon request.
