MANILA, Philippines — THE Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday that it is closely monitoring cloud clusters outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that may turn into a low pressure area (LPA).
Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the cloud formations were spotted in the eastern side of the country.
In the meantime, the southwest monsoon or habagat is affecting Western Visayas, Negros Island, Central Visayas and Palawan where overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail.
The same weather system will bring isolated downpours or thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa said.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have similar weather conditions due to the localized thunderstorms.
