THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) wants to strengthen the capability of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as a partner for faster land titling efforts under the former’s Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project.
The DAR sees the need to equip DENR with 80 units of specialized laptops, saying DENR is a major partner in the land classification map projection, inspection, verification and approval of survey plans for collective certificates of land ownership award (CCLOA), and issuance of other documents if CCLOAs is within a forest or a timberland.
DAR has allocated P21.38 million for additional manpower, and information and communications technology equipment for the DENR, including the hiring of 14 contract of service personnel, provision of 47 units of desktops in 2023 and delivery of 80 units of specialized laptops this year.
Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Office Assistant Secretary Josef Angelo Martires is the deputy project implementing officer of Project SPLIT.
He recently spearheaded the turnover of 80 units of specialized laptops to the DENR, highlighting the importance of communication and collaboration between government agencies.
“We, at DAR, hope that the equipment we give you today will benefit your team. Let us commit to continuously improve our communication practices inter-agency. By doing so, we will not only enhance Project SPLIT but we could also build a foundation for future successes,” he said.
