MANILA, Philippines — To help prevent the spread of mpox, the Department of Health (DOH) said yesterday establishments engaged in beauty and relaxation services should adopt precautionary measures to protect their clients.
Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said the DOH would issue advisories intended for spas, beauty and wellness centers as well as massage parlors.
“We will come out with ‘risk communication posters’ for this particular industry,” Herbosa said.
The DOH on Monday reported the country’s first confirmed mpox case after the World Health Organization declared the viral disease a public health emergency for the second time.
