FDCP releases calendar of events for Philippine Film Industry Month celebration

September marks the Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM), and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has released the calendar of events in celebration of its fourth year.

With the theme “Tuloy ang Tradisyon ng Pelikulang Pilipino,” the celebration will kick off with an opening ceremony and a free screening of National Artist for Cinema Eddie Romero’s Aguila, starring Fernando Poe Jr., at the Metropolitan Theater on Sept. 1.

Other festivities include the Pamanang Pelikula and Films for Peace Screenings, the PFIM x PCIM: DGPI x FDCP Film Pitch Seminar Workshop, the PFIM 2024 Gala Night, the Sine50: Pelikula ng Bayan Screenings and Film Talks, the Sinekabataan Short Film Lab and Festival Screenings and Film Talks, and the Film Education Convention.

These events will be held in various locations, such as the FDCP Cinematheque Centres in Manila, Iloilo, Davao, Nabunturan, and Negros; Intramuros Centro de Turismo; Benilde, Design and Arts Campus; Shangri-La Plaza’s Red Carpet Cinema 1; and Teatrino Promenade, with some venues yet to be announced.

Capping off the month-long celebration are the PFIM x PCIM: DGPI x FDCP Film Pitch and Awarding Ceremony and The Filmmakers Night: PFIM 2024 Closing Ceremony on Sept. 27 at Seda Vertis North in Quezon City.
