Since their debut in 2022, P-Pop girl group G22 has captivated audiences with their fierce looks, empowering songs, and impeccable vocals, deservingly earning the title “Female Alphas of P-Pop.”
Launched by Cornerstone Entertainment, the group originally included AJ, Alfea, Jaz, and Bianca Forro. They made their first live performance in April 2022 at the inaugural PPopCon at Araneta Coliseum.
Despite facing challenges typical of rising P-Pop groups, including lineup changes with Forro’s departure in September 2023, G22 has consistently demonstrated resilience and growth.

In an interview, AJ reflected on their journey, saying, “I think all groups experience struggles. P-Pop is still rising, it’s still thriving, and for us, there were times when we became doubtful, times when we questioned, ‘Is it worth it?’ ‘Are we on the right path?’ Things like that.”
Jaz continued, “I think everything in life requires waiting for God’s perfect timing, but it’s going to be worth the wait. I believe that’s where growth happens and where the fire burns during that time of waiting.”
Currently, the group’s discography includes hits such as “Bang,” “Babalik,” “Defy,” “Takin’ Over,” “Boomerang,” a rendition of Dionela’s “Musika,” “Loka,” “One Sided Love,” and “I Hate Boys.”
Their international exposure skyrocketed in April 2024 when they performed on the Chinese reality show “Show It All,” alongside fellow P-Pop girl group Bini, showcasing “Babalik” and “Boomerang.”
While the P-Pop genre continues to rise, G22 addresses comparisons with other P-Pop groups with a spirit of unity and inspiration.
AJ shared, “Hopefully, we don’t engage in comparisons. Our objective is to elevate P-Pop and OPM together. Our song ‘Boomerang’ states, ‘This is not a competition but a revolution,’ and that’s how we see P-Pop — a collective movement rather than a rivalry.”
G22 feels the pressure that comes with their rising fame just like any other group.
“There’s always pressure because we want to be better every day. G22 will always strive for excellence, which is why we pressure ourselves to train daily. We turn that pressure into something that drives us to greater heights,” Alfea said.
Indeed, pressure often brings the gift of greatness. This has led G22 to achieve significant milestones and collaborations, the latest being their partnership with Acer, which has further propelled their rise in the P-Pop scene.
As Acer’s new ambassadors, G22 released the track “Limitless,” composed by Pablo of SB19 and produced by Radkidz, embodying Acer Day 2024’s theme “AI’m Limitless.”
“The fact that we were given the platform to endorse, we have come out of self-doubt, we have come out of being fragile and vulnerable, and now we are empowered in coming out with strength with the tagline ‘AI’m Limitless’ is already an incredible thing, and we are so proud of doing so,” Jaz said.
AJ continued, “As a group with a message of empowering and encouraging people, it aligns perfectly with Acer’s message. As G22, we’re female alphas; we’re all limitless. We should aim for this, that despite gender stereotypes, we are limitless. You can do whatever you want, whatever you like to do. That’s why we liked Acer’s message so much; it aligns with ours. Along with the quality of their products, that’s what we want to achieve as a group.”
During the Acer Day 2024 concert at Mall of Asia Arena on August 4, G22 performed alongside other prominent artists like K-Pop star Sandara Park and P-Pop Kings SB19.
The trio will also be featured in the Acer Ambassadors Mission video where they will be seen in different stages of their lives and careers. From working hard to overcoming self-doubt to raising the banner for Acer with hopes of boundless possibilities, G22 has gone through it all and emerged victorious and empowered.
The video, which will be released soon, will highlight G22’s leadership qualities and how they inspire people through their music. More importantly, it tells the story of how Acer’s AI technology played a crucial role in their growth and transformation.
Looking ahead, G22 continues to strive for excellence and versatility in their music and performances.
“G22 is always exploring. We want to show our versatility as artists, and also, part of our message is that ‘girl power is a wide spectrum.’ It’s not always fierce; it can also be chill, vulnerable, sad,” AJ said.
Apart from G22, Sandara Park and SB19, Acer Day 2024 also saw performances Ebe Dancel, TJ Monterde, Cup of Joe, and Rico Blanco.
