The Philippine Navy welcomed German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his delegation during a courtesy call to the Philippine Navy Flag Officer In Command, Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., at the Navy Headquarters on Sunday.
During the visit, officials participated in a comprehensive maritime briefing where they reviewed current maritime security challenges and discussed strategies to enhance defense and maritime cooperation between both countries.
Vice Adm. Adaci Jr. commended Germany’s initiatives outlined in their 2023 Defense Policy Guidelines.
“Like Germany, we prioritize cooperation with like-minded partners, advocating for the comprehensive implementation of UNCLOS, Freedom of Navigation, and the preservation of peace and stability,” he stated.
He also extended his heartfelt gratitude to the German Federal Ministry of Defence for their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security by adhering to a rules-based international order in the Indo-Pacific region.
“As President Marcos emphasized, our shared commitment to international law strengthens our partnership and creates a favorable atmosphere for working together on global issues,” he added.
