MANILA, Philippines — Scattered and isolated rain showers are expected in most parts of the archipelago, including Metro Manila all throughout the day brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat,” the state-run weather agency said on Tuesday.
In fact, this weather system will likely persist until the weekend, weather specialist Rhea Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Citing data and analysis, the Pagasa forecaster said they have not monitored any tropical cyclone or low pressure area entering or forming within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the coming days.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, the state weather bureau said isolated downpours or thunderstorms will be experienced over Bicol Region, the rest of Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batnagas, Rizal and Quezon) and Visayas due to the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to overcast skies also with isolated rain showers will
prevail over the rest of the country due to the localized thunderstorms in 24 hours, it added.
