THE House of Representatives has completed a 16-person detention facility to hold resource persons who are cited for contempt and have been recommended for detention by the chamber in the exercise of its legislative and oversight functions.
This unfolds as different House committees have issued 37 contempt citations in the 19th Congress, particularly by the committees on Public Accounts, Public Order and Safety, Human Rights, Dangerous Drugs, Franchise, Agriculture and others.
