MANILA, Philippines — Free medical services are available for senior citizens at the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center this week.
JRRMMC medical center chief Dr. Wenceslao Llauderes said they are offering free medical services to the elderly as part of National Hospital Week.
“It is our way of giving back to the community and honoring the invaluable contributions of elderly Filipinos,” Llauderes said.
The Department of Health (DOH) marks National Hospital Week from Aug. 6 to 12 to highlight the pivotal role of hospitals and healthcare workers in promoting, safeguarding and preserving the health of the people.
Health Secretary Ted Herbosa encouraged all government and private hospitals to participate in the activities for the National Hospital Week.
“This milestone is more than just a celebration. It is a call to action. This is also our time to highlight patients’ safety,” Herbosa said.
This year’s theme, “Ligtas Pinas! Dekalidad na Serbisyong Ospital,” underscores the collective commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for patients.
The DOH is holding the first Hospital Summit online from Aug. 7 to 8.
