MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5 earthquake jolted the provinces of Cagayan and Ilocos Norte on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs).
The quake struck at 7:56 a.m. with the epicenter located near Dalupiri Island in Cagayan.
According to the Phivolcs bulletin, the quake’s depth of focus is 10 kilometers and is tectonic in origin.
The only instrumental intensity for this quake was intensity 1, recorded in Pasuquin and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte.
No damage or aftershocks are expected as a result of the earthquake.
