Public school teachers will soon receive their P10,000-additional allowance with the  approval of the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act No. 11997 or the Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Law.

“There is already a guarantee that our teaches will get their P10,000 teaching allowance,” Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. said.

Revilla, main author and sponsor of the new law, joined Education Secretary Juan Edgardo Angara during the signing of the IRR of RA 11997.

“We thank newly confirmed DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara for making the approval of Kabalikat sa Pagtuturo Act’s IRR one of the first acts of his good and promising administration,” Revilla added.

He said approval of the IRR was the culmination of the long process towards the finalization of the measure, but he was delighted that it is now ready for implementation

“After a long wait and a long fight, we won for the welfare of our teachers,” the senator said.

“This is our dream for them as support and recognition of their important role in the education sector,” he said.

The law institutionalized the grant of teaching allowance to public school teachers. Starting next year, public school teachers will receive P10,000 for the purchase of tangible or intangible teaching supplies and materials, for the payment of incidental fees, and for the implementation or conduct of various learning delivery modalities.
