MANILA Electric Co. (Meralco) on Wednesday announced the adjusted dates of bid submission deadlines for its two power supply agreements that were hit with temporary restraining orders.

The distribution utility’s Bids and Awards Committee has scheduled the bid submission deadline for its 600-megawatt (MW) baseload requirement on August 27.

For its 400-MW interim requirement, the pre-bid conference will be on August 29, while the bid submission deadline was set on October 1.

Both requirements are due for delivery starting August 2025.

“Meralco is calling on generating companies to bid for these supply requirements, which will start to be used next year. We urge prospective bidders to submit their best offers for Meralco’s 600-MW and 400-MW supply requirements for next year,” Meralco Bids and Awards Committee for Power Supply Agreements Chairman Lawrence Fernandez said.

Meralco said the adjustment of schedules will ensure that all participants have ample time to prepare their submissions and the competitive selection processes (CSPs) are in compliance with the rules and guidelines set by the Department of Energy and Energy Regulatory Commission.

Meralco’s share price fell by P1.00 to close at P416 each on Wednesday.
