MANILA, Philippines — MSpectrum Inc., the solar energy arm of Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), has partnered with a manufacturing firm in Laguna for a solar project targeted for completion this year.
Excelitas Technologies Philippines Inc. has tapped MSpectrum to install and energize a 116-kiloWatt-peak (kWp) solar project at its manufacturing facility in Cabuyao, Laguna.
Upon completion in December, the project is expected to produce close to 170,000 kW-hours of clean energy every year and lower the carbon footprint of Excelitas by an estimated 118.2 metric tons (MT).
“With MSpectrum as their solar solutions provider, Excelitas is assured of world-class quality and reliable service throughout the duration of the solar project,” MSpectrum COO Patrick Henry Panlilio said.
A local unit of US-based Excelitas Technologies Corp., Excelitas is an industrial technology manufacturer engaged in delivering innovative and market-driven photonic solutions.
Enrique Sonoy Jr., Excelitas senior director for operations, said they are looking forward to creating more collaboration with MSpectrum in the future.

MSpectrum recently activated the 726-kWp solar rooftop facility of Japanese manufacturer Citizen Finedevice Philippines Corp. in Santo Tomas, Batangas.
The project is expected to generate around 1.055 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually and reduce the firm’s carbon footprint by about 751 MT.
As of June, MSpectrum’s solar rooftop portfolio of ongoing and operating capacity had reached 70 megawatts, 98 percent of which consisted of commercial and industrial clients.
The majority of MSpectrum’s existing portfolio is located within the Meralco franchise area in Luzon.
