MANILA, Philippines — Hybe’s new multinational girl group, Katseye, featuring Filipino member Sophia Laforteza, will visit the Philippines from Sept. 17 to 19, 2-24 as part of its highly anticipated Asia tour.
The group announced the tour on Saturday via X, revealing that it would kick off in Seoul, South Korea, on Sept. 12, followed by stops in the Philippines and Japan, where the tour will conclude on Sept. 23.
Katseye, which debuted in late June, also includes members Daniela, Lara, and Megan from the United States, Manon from Switzerland, and Yoonchae from South Korea.

Laforteza, the girl group’s leader, is the first Filipino artist under Hybe, the agency known for managing global acts like BTS, Tomorrow X Together, Seventeen, Enhypen, and NewJeans. Her mother was a stage actress and singer Carla Guevara-Laforteza, while her father, Basilio Godfrey Laforteza III was a former dancer and currently an executive chef in Newport World Resorts.
Katseye was formed through a global talent search that began in November 2021 when Hybe and Geffen Records launched a joint venture, Hybe x Geffen Records, to create a new girl group with “contestants from around the world.” Out of over 120,000 applicants, 20 contestants were selected to compete in the reality show “Dream Academy,” which determined the six-member lineup of Katseye through a series of intense “missions.” The contestants underwent a year of rigorous training in Los Angeles, California, following the Korean idol trainee system. The competition premiered on August 19, 2023, and concluded on Nov. 18, 2023.
The group’s formation and their journey toward debut were documented in the Netflix series “Pop Star Academy: Katseye,” directed by Nadia Hallgreen and premiered on August 21.
Katseye’s debut was officially announced on June 14, 2024, with the release of their first EP, “SIS (Soft Is Strong).” In the lead-up to the EP, Katseye released two singles, “Debut” and “Touch,” in June and July, respectively.
Details about Katseye’s upcoming events in the Philippines have yet to be announced.
