Actor Niño Muhlach has revealed that his son, Sandro Muhlach, is battling depression following an alleged sexual harassment incident involving two independent contractors from GMA Network.
In an interview with “24 Oras,” Niño Muhlach said Sandro had undergone assessments at the National Bureau of Investigation’s Behavioral Science Division.
“He is experiencing some depression. It has affected his eating and sleeping patterns. We hope to see improvements in the coming days,” he said.
During a Senate hearing, the former child star mentioned that the accused contractors, Richard Cruz and Jojo Nones, had apologized to him.
“I’ve already met with both of them, and they expressed their apologies to me,” Muhlach said.
“I’m just a human being. Even God knows how to forgive. I can forgive them, but they have to pay for what they did,” he added.
However, legal counsel for the suspects, Maggie Abraham-Garduque, disputed Muhlach’s statements, asserting that her clients did not apologize.
“He mentioned in his interview and during the Senate hearing that they had a meeting and apologized. Regarding the apology, I conferred with my clients, and no such admission of liability occurred. This is a complete lie,” she said.
