Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo repeated his success last night with another solid performance in the Paris 2024 men’s vault finals, scoring 15.16 points in total for his second Olympic gold medal on Sunday.
Yulo banked on his good Dragulescu pike for his first vault execution where he scored 15.3 points. He followed this with a Kasamatsu double that gave him 14.8 points.
The 24-year-old bested opponents from Ukraine, Great Britain, Croatia, Iran and Armenia. Artur Davtyan of Armenia won the silver medal while Harry Hepworth took the bronze for Great Britain.
The historic performance makes Yulo as the first two-time Olympic gold medalist for the Philippines.
