PH working with Indonesia to limit Alice Guo’s movement

Philippine authorities were working with their Indonesian counterparts to limit dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo’s movements.

In Oscar Oida’s Monday 24 Oras Report, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) was working with their Indonesian counterparts, and based on their discussions, they believed that Guo was still in Batam City.

“Minamadali  po natin yung tinatawag nating Blue Notice para mabantayan po siya ng  24/7,” said PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio. “But then again, nangako po ang ating mga counterparts na their  doing their best na ma-secure lamang siya sa isang limited na lugar.”

(We are fast-tracking the so-called Blue Notice so she can be surveilled 24/7. But then again, our counterpart promised they were doing their best to limit her movement to one area.)

Both Senator Sherwin Gatchalian and the Bureau of Immigration had the same information.

“Naniniwala ako yung sangay ng  enforcement agencies ng Indonesia ay nakaalerto na. Kaya mahihiraapan na  siya gumalaw dito sa Southeast Asia,” said Gatchalian.

(I believe that Indonesian law enforcement agencies had been alerted. So, it will be difficult for her to move around Southeast Asia.)

“Base raw sa pakikipag ugnayan nila sa Indonesian  counterparts, wala pa raw attempt na tumawid ng border si Guo mula August 18 na dumating siya roon,” confirmed Bureau of Immigration spokesperson Dana Sandoval.

Meanwhile, the PAOCC received information that Alice Guo’s brother, Wesley, had attempted to fly to Hong Kong this Monday.

 “So inaalam pa po natin sa counterparts natin sa  Administrative Region of Hong Kong kung nakalipad nga po siya at  nakapasok doon sa kanilang territory. Inaantay lang po natin yung update,” said Casio.

(We’re trying to find out from our Administrative Region of Hong Kong counterparts if he indeed flew to and entered their territory. We’re just waiting for the update.)

The PAOCC believed that Guo and her companions could not have been able to leave the country without assistance given that the entire country, as well as neighboring countries, were on the lookout for them.

The commission had a lead on who these facilitators were, and the PAOCC was working on confirming their identities.

For its part, the National Bureau of Investigation was monitoring Alice Guo’s movements.
