The Philippine Army hosted the 36th Malaysia-Philippines Army Working Group Meeting (MALPHI AWG) at the Philippine Army Headquarters, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Wednesday.

Assistant Chief of Staff for Plans, G5, Col. Benjamin L. Leander and Malaysian Army’s Operation and Training Branch Director General Brig. Gen. Isa Bin Daud co-chaired the 36th MALPHI AWG.

The working group meeting is an annual activity intended to strengthen and develop friendly relations and cooperation through the development of medium-term bilateral activities and promote open discussion on subjects of mutual interest to both armies.

The meeting evaluated activities for 2024 and deliberated proposals for 2025.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido underscored the Army’s desire to enhance and complement each others’ military capabilities in the spirit of friendship and unwavering commitment to promote regional peace and stability within the ASEAN member states.
