MANILA, Philippines — THE Philippine Post Office (PhlPost) has released commemorative stamps featuring the iconic Manila Central Post Office Building to mark the joint issue of the General Asean Post Office 2024.
Ten countries in the Asean Postal Region each introduced the façade of their main post office building to symbolize unity, integration and cooperation.
Built in 1926, the Manila Central Post Office Building is one of the Philippine capital’s most recognizable landmarks.
“It is the beacon of hope to represent the country in the Asean Region,” PhilPost Chairman and Postmaster General Mike Planas said on Sunday.
“The Asean Post stamps aim to foster closer relations and cooperation among the member countries of Asean,” he said.
