CONDEMNING the decision of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. rejecting the call of the Senate to suspend the Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP), the biggest transport group in the country declared that it would hold a ‘big-time’ nationwide transport strike on Wednesday, July 14, 2024.
Modesto ‘Mody’ Floranda, president of Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operaytor Nationwide (PISTON), told The Manila Times that their 80, 000-strong group would join hands with another big transport organization, the Samahang Manibela at Nagkaisang Terminal ng Transportasyon, simply known as Manibela.
