QC increases financial aid for scholars

THE Quezon City government has increased the stipend for its over 30,000 senior high school and tertiary scholars.

An ordinance by Mayor Maria Josefina Belmonte said the stipend for senior high school scholars will increase from P4,000 to P10,000 annually, stipend for tertiary scholars will increase from P4,000 to P25,000, and stipend for continuing education and vocational course scholars will increase from P6,000 to P10,000.

“Providing more funds to our scholarship program is a necessary and sound investment for the city’s future,” Belmonte said.

Online applications for new scholars will start on August 5.
