Col. Jamel P. Samonte has assumed the role of new Commander of the Army Signal Regiment (ASR) in a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on Thursday.
Samonte took over the position from Brig. Gen. Alejandro J. Papa in a ceremony presided by the Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido.
He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Bantay-Laya” Class 1994.
Prior to his new designation, he served as the Deputy Commander of the Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CEISSAFP).
Samonte has Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
