GMA Network has promoted Joy Romina Marcelo to First Vice President of Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Talent Development and Management. The promotion recognizes Marcelo’s leadership and the successful initiatives that have significantly enhanced Sparkle’s profile both locally and internationally.
Marcelo played a crucial role in the recently concluded “Sparkle Tour” concert series in the US and Canada. With plans to expand to Japan, these events have boosted Sparkle’s global presence and strengthened ties with overseas Filipino communities.
The new First Vice President’s strategic guidance further led to Sparkle’s largest on-ground contract signing for the “Signed for Stardom 2024” event, which featured nearly 50 artists.

Marcelo also expanded Sparkle’s digital footprint with the first-ever “Sparkle TikTok Series,” which has engaged a younger audience. She is likewise credited for the launches of the Sparkle Kilig Series Stars, Sparkle 10, and Boys of Summer projects, which have been well-received by fans and industry insiders.
Under Marcelo’s leadership, Sparkle recruited international stars Kim Ji-soo and Nancy McDonie, bringing new global attention to GMA Network’s talent pool.
“Joy Marcelo’s promotion to First Vice President is a well-deserved recognition of her dedication and outstanding contributions to GMA Network. Her visionary approach has elevated our brand and set new industry benchmarks,” said lawyer Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President of GMA Network Inc.
Marcelo’s promotion comes as Sparkle continues to solidify its position as the leading talent management arm in the Philippines while expanding its global influence.
