A total of 21 cities and municipalities in the country have declared a state of calamity following the effects of the sunken oil tanker MT Terra Nova in Lamao Point, Limay, Bataan.
In the latest situation report, the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) said that of the 21, 12 came from Region 3 or Central Luzon while 9 came from Region 4-A or Calabarzon.
Still, a total of 25,145 farmers and fisherfolk were affected and came from Region 4 where Bataan is nearly situated.
Earlier report also said that the estimated cost of damage from the oil spill in Cavite has reached P1 billion.
Due to the incident, Cavite has been declared a no-catch zone for fish and shellfish.
