Supreme Court’s 13k records leaked online

MANILA, Philippines — Around 13,000 records of the Supreme Court have been leaked online, a cybersecurity organization said on Wednesday morning.

Deep Web Konek said a threat actor identified as “grep,” claimed responsibility by uploading the database for public access.

“This leak has brought to light the vulnerability of government systems, particularly in handling and securing legal information,” the organization said.

As a result of the breach, 13,564 rows of data, consisting of a “broad range of legal proceedings and applications,” was compromised and exposed.

Assessment numbers, full names of individuals involved in legal numbers, case categories and types, payment statuses, and dates filed and paid were all leaked.

“The exposed data paints a detailed picture of various legal proceedings, with information ranging from case details to payment statuses, highlighting the severity of the breach,” the cybersecurity organization said.

They also said the legal community should be vigilant and that the High Court was expected to investigate the breach.
