OVER 200 technical-vocational graduates from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority’s (Tesda) training centers will take part in the 2024 Philippine National Skills Competition (PNSC).

The competition will be from August 21 to 25 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

“We aim to showcase the incredible abilities of our participants, highlighting the vital role of technical skills in nation-building and economic progress,” said Suharto Mangudadatu, director general of Tesda, during the launching program on Monday at the Tesda Women’s Center in Taguig City.

Suharto also honored the private industry partners of Tesda, who will likewise showcase their technological innovations during the PNSC.

Vidal Villanueva III, Tesda deputy director general and chairman of the PNSC National Organizing Committee, said: “Our goal is to foster excellence among the youth and align our technical vocational skills with global standards and the evolving market.”

The winners will represent the Philippines in the 2025 Asean Skills Competition, which the country will host.

The kickoff program included a signing of ceremonial commitment for this year’s partners to collaborate on the PNSC.

One of the industry partners, the NCR Alliance of TVET Schools Association Inc., presented Suharto with a plaque of appreciation for “fostering innovation and embracing emerging technologies, notably the Collaborative Robot Programming Level III.” The plaque was given by Mary Grace Rose Gulan, president of Natsa.
