Thailand Ambassador to the Philippines Tull Traisorat pushed for increased flights to meet the rising business and tourism exchange between the two countries.
Traisorat particularly emphasize enhancing air connectivity between Clark and Bangkok.
“I see a lot of opportunities here that you’ve been promoting as a freeport zone and an airport. I would like to see more air connectivity between Clark and Bangkok, and to some other cities as well,” he said in his visit to the Clark Visitors Center on Aug. 20, 2024.
Traisorat expressed optimism for enhanced collaboration in various sectors including air connectivity, hospitality and renewable energy.
He noted Clark’s strategic location, freeport zone status and growing air connectivity with Bangkok and other cities in Thailand.
He said there is a significant potential for connecting Clark with U-Tapao, a strategic area in Thailand, to foster industrial, high-tech and tourism development.
The diplomat also cited opportunities for Thai companies in Clark, particularly in food, hospitality, banking and finance and medical services.
He proposed sharing best practices in freeport zones, MICE (meetings, incentives, conference and exhibitions tourism) and other areas of mutual interest.
Traisorat revealed plans to bring a Thai business delegation to Clark to explore further opportunities, saying the visit is part of the activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of Thailand-Philippines diplomatic relations.
