The Manila Times joins media groups in signing covenant vs fake news

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Times joined other media groups and the academe in signing a covenant against fake news on Friday.

Times’ Chairman and CEO Dante Ang 2nd participated in the event, dubbed “Panata: Kontra Fake News,’ held at the GMA-7 studio in Quezon City.

The covenant is primarily aimed at checking and stopping the proliferation of fake news, as well as deep fakes in all media platforms.

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Garcia was also present.
