“How kind are you to your health? How do you treat your body? How will you take care of your body?”
These were the questions relayed by Healthy Options’ chief executive officer Romy Sia during the launch of the all-natural and organic products retailer Healthy Options’ latest campaign, “Be Kind To Future You.”
Sia emphasized that we often mistakenly equate self-kindness with indulgence.
“We always think about being kind to others. But being kind to ourselves, we think about indulging. But, if you think about it, why is it that people in their 40s and 50s start to have all these health problems? It’s because it takes a long time to degrade and destroy your body. So the things that we do when we’re young, we don’t know that it has an effect in the future,” stated Sia.
He then pointed out that the initiative aims to inspire Filipinos to prioritize their well-being and make healthier choices for a better future.
“No matter what age we are, we need to start thinking about ourselves, that we should be very particular about what we put in our body. Try to get lots of sleep, as much as you can. Because all of this has an impact in the future. Always think about what you do will always have an impact on yourself in the future,” he continued.
The campaign emphasizes the importance of investing in health today for future benefits. Healthy Options believes that small, sustainable lifestyle changes can greatly improve quality of life and prevent health issues.
Since starting in 1995 with one store in Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City, Healthy Options has grown to 34 stores nationwide, offering natural products. Sia, inspired by the difficulty of finding clean, artificial-free food for his son in Manila, opened the store after seeing the popularity of natural foods in the US. He aimed to provide Filipinos with access to all-natural and organic staples. Today, Healthy Options is committed to helping people live longer, healthier lives.
The “Be Kind to Future You” campaign encourages small, impactful daily choices. By focusing on clean, natural ingredients, understanding labels, and committing to well-being, people can develop habits that benefit their health and the planet.
As part of the campaign, Healthy Options hosted a wellness day for the media. Guests made personalized healthy snacks from organic, additive-free trail mix ingredients. They consulted with a nutritionist for customized plans to incorporate clean, natural ingredients into their diets.
Parents led their babies and kids to a taste test of organic snacks from Happy Baby. Attendees also tried clean, cruelty-free personal care products and all-natural pastries from Baking Therapy. They were encouraged to bring recyclable Healthy Options and Solgar supplement bottles for their next visit, with collection stations in the store.
The event also offered valuable insights for health enthusiasts, emphasizing that a wellness journey should be personal and meaningful.
“You have to think about yourself. I know we spend a lot of money buying branded products. Invest in your health, invest in your body,” Sia added.
