DOUBLE Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo on Wednesday was shown his new three-bedroom condominium unit in the 50-hectare McKinley Hill Township by Megaworld in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Megaworld confirmed that Yulo received his 100-square meter three-bedroom, fully-furnished condominium unit worth P32 million that comes with a parking lot, home appliances, furniture, fixtures and other amenities.

“The 100-square meter condo unit is fully furnished and designed with home appliances such as a refrigerator, microwave oven, four-burner cooktop with oven, washing and drying machines, four smart televisions, and even a game console, which Carlos can enjoy even with his friends and family during his free time,” Megaworld said.

Kevin Tan, president and chief executive officer of Alliance Global Group Inc., Megaworld’s parent company, along with Megaworld Corp. President Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso, turned over the condo unit’s keys and P3 million check to Yulo.

He also received a special artwork featuring three leaves cut into his portrait, winning form image at the recent Paris Olympics and the McKinley Hill Venice Grand Canal.

“Together with the rest of the nation, we thank Carlos for giving us so much pride as he showcased to the world the best of the Filipinos’ competitive spirit,” Tan said.

“We recognize his passion and dedication to excellence, and we take pride in welcoming another Olympic champion in our Megaworld township, just like how we celebrated and welcomed Hidilyn Diaz in Eastwood City when she won the Philippines’ first-ever Olympic gold medal in Tokyo, Japan back in 2021,” he added.

Megaworld described Yulo’s three-bedroom unit as “inspired by modern contemporary interior design, characterized by clean, sleek lines, and neutral tones that emphasize simplicity and attention to detail.”

The space features “generous hues of gold” inspired by the champion artistic gymnast’s Olympic gold medals and was custom-curated by the real estate firm’s in-house interior design team.

The unit also has two balconies that can be accessed from the living room and master bedroom. Both offer a view of the McKinley Hill Township and the rest of the property.

On Megaworld’s Facebook post, Yulo is seen with a custom-made coffee table that has a replica of the Paris 2024 Olympic gold medal.

His unit also has a dining area with a custom dining table that can be transformed and configured to accommodate six to eight people at a time.

A gallery adorns the hallway that includes four newspaper clippings of his Olympic gold medal wins, including one from The Manila Times, which headlined his second gold from the Paris Games.

In addition, one of the unit’s bedrooms was designed to be an entertainment room with a custom daybed with a pull-out single bed.

After he was shown his unit, Yulo was given a parade at the Venice Grand Canal, where he was welcomed by fans and members of McKinley Hill. He also received a lifetime free delivery service and exclusive goodies and merchandise from delivery app Pick.A.Roo.

“We are very excited to finally welcome Carlos here in McKinley Hill. Having someone like him as a full-fledged resident of one of our pioneer Megaworld township developments is already a cause for celebration,” Gutierrez-Alfonso said.

“Aside from his new home, we look forward to seeing him enjoy the rest of the township as his new address is surrounded by several iconic destinations, including the Venice Grand Canal, which features hundreds of themed restaurants, cinemas and retail establishments. This gift is a well-deserved reward for all his hard work, sacrifices and commitment to excellence that really made us all proud to be Filipinos,” she added.
