A total of 20 town mayors and nine other local officials in Bohol have joined Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the largest political party in Congress and in the country.
Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, the Lakas-CMD president, administered the oath of membership to his new party members on Wednesday afternoon.
“With this decision, you share our support for President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos Jr. and his aspirations for a progressive Philippines and his Bagong Pilipinas programs,” Romualdez said.
“We are all hoping we can together improve the lives of our people,” he added.
The new Lakas-CMD members are Mayors Constantino Reyes (Ubay), Janette Garcia (Talibon), Cary Camacho (Getafe), Dave Duallo (Buenavista), Eugeniano Ibarra (Clarin), Restituto Suarez lll (Sagbayan), Diosdado Gementiza (San Isidro), Jose Cepedoza (Danao), Hilario Ayuban (Loay), Randolph Ang (Dimiao), Dionesio Neil Balite (Valencia), Filadelfo Jess Baja III (Garcia Hernandez), Al Taculad (Duero), Albino Balo (Guindulman), Angelina Simacio (Anda), Conchita Toribio de los Reyes (Carmen), Norman Palacio (Bilar), Raymond Jala (Loboc), Onjie Grace Lim (Mabini), and Wilson Pajo (Pilar).
They were joined by Vice Mayors Faustino Bulaga (mayoral candidate) of San Miguel, Fernando Erio (mayoral candidate) of Trinidad, Simplicio Maestrado (mayoralty candidate) of Sierra Bullones, Teofisto Pagar of Jagna, and Zeniza Bulalaque (mayoralty candidate) of Batuan.
Five other Bohol local execs took their oath of membership with their mayors and vice mayors. They are Councilors John Felix Garcia (mayoral candidate) of Bien Unido and Marciano Aruban (mayoral candidate) of Alicia, former Mayor Sofronio Apat (mayoral candidate) of Dagohoy, and Dexter Ancla, who is eyeing the mayoral post in Alicia town.
