MANILA, Philippines — At least six persons were killed while 57 others were hurt in a collision between a passenger bus and a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Majayjay, Laguna province.
In a report on Monday, the Majayjay Municipal Station said the mishap occurred along a road in Barangay Bakia at 3:25 p.m. Sunday.
An APR Transportation bus coming from Lucban, Quezon was traversing the curved downhill portion of the road when it collided with a Hyundai SUV traveling in the opposite direction. The bus rammed into a tree after wrecking the SUV.
The Majayjay Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said the still unidentified fatalities include five adults and a boy.
Rescuers brought the injured victims to several hospitals.
The police are investigating the cause of the crash.
