THE inaugural Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report 2024, which was launched this month, provides critical information on hotel, resort, and other accommodation projects in the country that are in the planning and/or construction stages.
Developed by the Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) and Leechiu Property Consultants (LPC), the report also includes data on the number of hotel projects and room keys, classification breakdowns, indicative investment costs and jobs generated.
PHOA President Arthur Lopez said the report aims to aid “hotel owners, tourism stakeholders and government policymakers in making informed decisions that could significantly influence the growth and development of the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.”
PHOA has 67 member companies with 227 member hotels, totaling an inventory of more than 40,000 rooms.
According to LPC Chairman David Leechiu, “hotel developers, hotel operators, design consultants and government units” contributed to the data-gathering process.
LPC assists investors and developers in maximizing the potential of emerging locations, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success for the Philippine hospitality industry.
A statement released by both organizations said that they plan to make the Philippine Accommodation Pipeline Report an annual publication. They encourage more hotels and accommodation providers to participate actively in this initiative, as their “cooperation and input are crucial in ensuring that we continue to deliver robust and dynamic data that reflects the evolving trends and opportunities within our sector.”
