The Philippine Air Force (PAF) administration convened with its counterparts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states in Cambodia to address regional security challenges.
PAF Spokesperson Colonel Maria Consuelo Castillo stated that PAF Commanding General Lieutenant General Stephen Parreno represented the Philippines during the 21st ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference, held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from September 15 to 18, 2024.
The ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference, themed “Enhancing Information Sharing and Cohesive Cooperation among ASEAN Air Forces for Peace and Development,” provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration among Southeast Asian air forces.
The event focused on addressing regional security issues, promoting mutual understanding, and establishing frameworks for multinational air force operations.
Lieutenant General Parreno conducted bilateral meetings with air force leaders from Cambodia, Brunei, and Singapore to discuss areas of cooperation, best practices, and the strengthening of military ties.
“The ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference significantly contributed to fostering regional security and strengthening military cooperation and relationships among ASEAN member states,” Castillo remarked.
