MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reported on Tuesday that all airports run by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) remain operational and have sustained no damage amid the heavy rains spawned by Tropical Storm “Enteng” and an enhanced southwest monsoon.

The DOTr, however, said all airlines would follow the directive specified in Memorandum Circular 013-2023 issued by CAAP Director General Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo that prohibits an aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 5,700 kilograms or less from flying under Storm Signal No. 1.

In addition, all passengers and crew on both commercial and general aviation flights must undergo security clearance and procedures in the passenger terminal building at CAAP-operated airports.

On Monday, 38 domestic flight cancellations were recorded at various airports due to inclement weather.

On Tuesday, as of 8 a.m., two domestic flights were cancelled at the Laoag International Airport. The cancellation affected at least 100 arriving and 71 departing passengers.
