MANILA, Philippines—The arraignment of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo before a Valenzuela City Regional Trial Court (RTC) on two counts of graft has been rescheduled for the second time.

A lawyer from the sala of Judge Elena Amigo-Amano of RTC Branch 282 told The Manila Times on Monday that the arraignment has been reset on October 28.

She said the judge postponed the arraignment following a motion to amend information filed by the Office of the Ombudsman last Friday.

“The Office of the Ombudsman has requested for the postponement of the arraignment as it filed a motion to amend information before Branch 282,” she added.

The graft charges were filed against Guo for allegedly using her position to issue permits for the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in her town.

The Supreme Court ordered the transfer of her graft cases from Capas to Valenzuela.

The Valenzuela judge allowed Guo to post bail.

The former mayor is also facing non-bailable charges of qualified human trafficking before a Pasig City court. She is detained at a female dormitory of the Pasig City Jail.
