ARCHIPELAGO Philippine Ferries Corp. (APFC) has been officially accredited by the Department of Tourism (DoT) as a tourist water transport operator to provide travelers with high-quality and reliable water transport services.
The company’s FCM18 vessel is a modern RoRo (roll on, roll off) passenger ship built in 2019. It is equipped with a Yanmar engine, capable of carrying up to 361 passengers and cruising at 15 knots, ensuring efficient and comfortable travel.
“We are pleased to inform you that your water vessel has met all our requirements for accreditation. Enclosed are your accreditation certificate and sticker as proof of your compliance with our standards,” Sharlene Batin, regional director of DoT National Capital Region, said in a letter to APFC.

With this accreditation, APFC will enjoy several non-fiscal incentives, such as membership in the Philippine Convention and Visitors Corp., which provides access to exclusive marketing and promotional programs, and exemption from regulated rates, offering greater flexibility in operational costs.
Other benefits include the issuance of DoT ID cards to bona fide employees, crew and boatmen, facilitating their recognition and access within the tourism sector. APFC will also receive technical security facilitation support, enhancing the safety and security of its operations.
This accreditation is part of the DoT’s broader initiative to elevate the quality and standards of tourist services across the country, contributing to the growth of the maritime tourism sector.
