(UPDATES) ASENSO Manileño, Manila’s dominant political party, unveiled its lineup for the May 2025 midterm elections at the San Andres Sports Complex on Friday.

The party’s president Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo declared their bids for reelection.

Of the six district representatives of the city, the five allied with Asenso Manileño all declared their intention to run for reelection: 2nd District Rep. Rolando Valeriano, head of the House Committee on Metro Manila Development; 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua, head the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability; 4th District Rep. Edward Maceda, head of the Committee on Revision of Laws; 5th District Rep. Irwin Tieng, head of the Committee on Banks and Financial Intermediaries; and 6th District Rep. Benny Abante, head of the Committee on Human Rights.

Manny Lopez will be Asenso Manileño’s candidate for first district representative.
