The Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP) has announced that the upcoming Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) will feature the debut of the Asian Rights Fair-Manila (ARF-MNL).
In partnership with the National Book Development Board (NBDB) and Primetrade Asia, Inc., the event aims to allow local publishers and writers to expand into the international market by presenting their work to international guests and connecting with one another.
The event will feature 15 invitees from different countries, including representatives from international publishing organizations such as the Malaysian Book Publishers Association (MABOPA), Indonesian Publishers Association (IKAPI), The Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (PUBAT), Malaysian Booksellers Association (MBA), Singapore Book Publishers Association (SBPA), and Perbadanan Kota Buku (PKB).
The event will include panels on representing various markets, discussions about rights exchange and distribution, and opportunities to explore new ways of creating inroads into different markets.
Those interested in meeting the delegates from ARF-MNL can send an email to bdapsecretariat@gmail.com. Meanwhile, the panels will be open to members of BDAP and participants of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2024, as identified by the NBDB.
The ARF-MNL will take place on Sept. 12 to 13 during MIBF 2024 at the SMX Convention Center.
