Beatriz Zobel de Ayala has passed away at the age of 88, the Ayala Corporation confirmed on Tuesday.
Known also as Doña Bea, she was the wife of Ayala chair emeritus Don Jaime Zobel de Ayala and the matriarch of the family behind the Philippines’ oldest conglomerate.
She passed away on Monday. Other details of her passing, including the cause of death, remain undisclosed as of writing.
The Zobel de Ayala family requests privacy “during this most difficult time.”
Meanwhile, the Ayala Corporation said it has since informed its employees of Beatriz’s passing.
