Bookworms at heart will have a grand time perusing the shelves of Manila International Book Fair 2024 to grab books they’ve always wanted to read or discover titles and authors they’ve never encountered.
Happening until September 15, here’s what avid readers can expect from MIBF participants, particularly Fully Booked, the go-to destination for Filipinos finding their next great read.
1. One of the largest booth displays. Fully Booked will transform Hall 2 of the SMX Convention Center into a literary haven, offering an impressive array of diverse books. From new releases and buzz-worthy bestsellers to timeless classics and dazzling debuts, literary fiction, young adult, children’s titles, romance, cozy mysteries, and more, there’s something for every reader.
2. Score incredible deals on various titles. Readers will be treated to 20-percent off on all displayed titles at Fully Booked during MIBF 2024. Meanwhile, those who can’t make it physically to the event can still score discounts through the Fully Booked Online platform (15-percent off on d-coded items.)
3. Find the newest, hot off-the-press titles. For bibliophiles who can’t resist new releases, some of the newly-released and straight-from-shipment titles to watch out for are “Before the Coffee Gets Cold:” a Toshikazu Kawaguchi Boxed Set, “Life Impossible” by Matt Haig, and “We’ll Prescribe You a Cat” by Syou Ishida for fiction; “Embracing Hope” by Victor Frankl and “The Four-Way Path” by Hector Garcia for non-fiction; and “Everything We Never Had” by Randy Ribay and “The Extraordinary Disappointments of Leopold Berry” by Ransom Riggs for children’s and young adult (YA) titles.
4. Spin the wheel and score freebies. Customers can present their receipt or proof of purchase to spin the wheel and win exciting freebies like pins, pop sockets, tote bags, bookmarks, stickers, postcards, pouches, or, for the more daring, take a chance on the surprise boxes.
Besides exploring great reads, MIBF offers a fantastic opportunity for bookworms to attend workshops, seminars, and meet the authors and illustrators behind their favorite books, engaging in enriching literary conversations.
The Manila International Book Fair will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until September 15 at the SMX Convention Center.
