Justin Brownlee dropped 40 points to tow Barangay Ginebra past Rain or Shine, 124-102, on Friday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Brownlee waxed hot as he drilled a four-pointer and made five out of six 3-pt attempts en route to his 40-point outing. He also had ten rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Japeth Aguilar added 21 points, while Stephen Holt had 18 points as Barangay Ginebra avenged its first round loss to the Elasto Painters.
Aaron Fuller, meanwhile, had 28 points and 11 rebounds as Rain or Shine was dealt its second loss.
Jhonard Clarito led the locals with 16 points while Felix Lemetti had 15 points for the Elasto Painters.
Earlier, San Miguel kept Phoenix winless, 139-127.
Ginebra, Rain or Shine, and San Miguel all have five wins and two losses each in Group B.
