THOUSANDS of qualified solo parents in Caloocan City will start receiving P1,000 monthly financial assistance this September, Mayor Dave Gonzalo Malapitan said on Monday.
Malapitan said beneficiaries must be registered as solo parents in the city and must be earning an amount equivalent to or below minimum wage.
He said that the city government is finalizing the list of qualified solo parents.
He pointed out that “the needs of those belonging to the most vulnerable sectors must also be acknowledged and prioritized first while my administration continues to protect the interests of all my constituents.”
He vowed that other existing programs focusing on long-term benefits to solo parents will continue.
The mayor also thanked members of the city council, led by its presiding officer Vice Mayor Anna Karina Teh-Limsico, for their support of his programs and projects that need the local legislators’ approval, especially on fund allocations.
