MANILA, Philippines — The brother of former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo, intends to surrender to local authorities, his lawyer said on Thursday.
Talking to reporters at the Senate, lawyer Stephen David mentioned that he spoke to Wesley Guo on Wednesday but didn’t disclose his whereabouts.
“Despite not being at fault, Wesley no longer sees a reason to remain in hiding,” said the lawyer.
David is contacting the country’s law enforcement agencies to request his client’s possible surrender.
Meanwhile, David believes former mayor Alice Guo cannot be a state witness.
“She is not involved in the POGO operation and cannot share critical information with the authorities. They said they are ready to answer all the cases and complaints against Alice Guo,” David added.
