MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm “Ferdie” (international name: Bebinca) has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Overnight, tropical storm Ferdie had exited the PAR and its current location as of 4 a.m. is at 1,210 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon,” Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said in a livestream of the video.
He also said the storm's wind speed is at 85 km per hour (kph) near the center and is headed west-northwest at 20 kph, with gusts of 105 kph.
However, the effects of the southwest monsoon brought by the storm will still cause rains in several parts of the country.
The weather bureau, in its morning bulletin, said that Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Negros Occidental would bare the brunt of monsoon rains as a result of the weather system, while the Bicol Region and the rest of Negros Island Region will have occasional rains.
In addition, because of the monsoon, Metro Manila, the rest of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Calabarzon, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, while the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
The trough of “Ferdie” will affect Northern Luzon, which will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Strong winds are expected at the western sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas, while Mindanao and the rest of Southern Luzon and Visayas, will have moderate to strong winds, both of which are in the southwest direction.
The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds, which are heading north to north west.
The temperature for the day ranges from 26.1 to 29.8 degrees Celsius, while relative humidity is from 73 to 93 percent.
