If there were things that an avid fan would love to happen if his or her favorite love team didn’t end up together, it’s to see them meet once again and maintain their friendship.

Well, a lot of fans of the former on-and-offscreen couple Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta would definitely agree.

Last year was a dream come true for most ShaGab fans when the two held their sold-out Dear Heart concert at SM Mall of Asia Arena. Imagine seeing them reunited onstage, singing in front of their thousands of fans as if it were that time when they were still working together.

During an intimate interview with the actor on Sept. 17 at a restaurant in Quezon City, Gabby expressed his joy as he talked about the overwhelming support he and Sharon had been receiving since their show, with fans even celebrating their wedding anniversary.

“Wow, it feels like it’s all coming back to me now,” quipped Gabby.

The 59-year-old actor then opened up about his rekindled friendship and reunion with Sharon.

“Well, I didn’t really expect it to be like before, of course, but at least we talk about certain things now that we didn’t discuss before,” he said.

Gabby also added that after their Dear Heart concert, unexpected yet good things have been happening to both of them, and he hopes that “it will never stop.”

“You know that feeling like a series of waves crashing in one after another? That’s how it feels. So many things are happening that we both never thought would happen. It’s a great feeling, and I just hope it will never stop,” continued Gabby.

Following the success of their show, the former couple is bringing “Dear Heart” across the United States and Canada, with a total of eight shows coinciding with his birthday on Nov. 5.

“My birthday this year will really be happy. I think this is one of my most exciting birthdays since it will be in the US and we will go on tour,” he stated.

“I’ve done a lot of concert tours in the past, but this one has a lot of shows on its schedule. We will be away for more than a month. We will have rehearsals here before we leave, but we will also have rehearsals there when we arrive,” the matinee idol added.

The tour was supposed to be held earlier this year, but due to conflicts in schedules among those involved in the show, Gabby and Sharon’s reunion concert was delayed for almost eight months.

“Ang mahirap sa lahat ay ‘yung orchestration ng show. Ang daming involved—venue, producers, mga musicians, artists. May kanya-kanya kasing schedule silang lahat. Eh pagtutugma-tugmain mo sa isang araw. Napakahirap,” Gabby explained.

The US-Canada tour will kick off on Oct. 26 at Harrah’s Resort in Southern California, with a performance on Oct. 27 at Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, California. It will continue on Nov. 2 at The Meeting House in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, and then on Nov. 15 at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California.

The tour will also have stops on Nov. 17 at Las Vegas Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, followed by a show on Nov. 21 at Club Regent Events Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It will wrap up the tour with performances on Nov.  23 at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu and Nov. 29 at Chandos Pattison Auditorium in Surrey, British Columbia.

When asked if their daughter, KC Concepcion, would be making an appearance at their shows, the actor said that KC would not be able to attend, but it would be better if she were there.

“I was hoping, pero based on the schedule, parang wala siya doon. It would be nice sana kung kasama siya,” he said.

During their Manila show, KC had a special participation and performed with her parents.
