Young cinematographer Geia De Vera has been selected as one of the 24 fellows for the 2024 CHANEL x Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) Asian Film Academy.
At just 24, De Vera has made significant strides in her filmmaking career, notably through her work on director Arvin Belarmino’s film *Radikals*, which was selected for La Semaine de la Critique at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
Additionally, De Vera has contributed to the productions of “Mallari,” “Replacing Chef Chico,” and “Cattleya Killer.”
The CHANEL x BIFF Asian Film Academy selects emerging filmmakers from across Asia to participate in activities such as short film production, workshops, mentoring, and masterclasses. The selected fellows will be divided into two teams to engage in a collaborative filmmaking process, supported by mentors, instructors, and a professional crew.
The short films completed by the end of the program will be officially screened at the Busan International Film Festival in October. The CHANEL x BIFF Asian Film Academy will run from Sept. 22 to Oct. 11.
