A member of the House QuadComm linked former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang and a Chinese businessman named Allan Lim to a massive web of criminal activities, particularly those involving illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) and drugs.

“Mukhang may koneksyon at pare-pareho ang cast of characters (There seemed to be a connection and with the same cast of characters). A criminal enterprise has penetrated us and has been operating with ‘quiet impunity,” said  House Deputy Speaker and Quezon Rep. David Suarez during the quad committee’s seventh hearing on Friday.

“Nung nakita po namin ang pattern ay sinundan namin pataas ang mga korporasyon na ito (When we saw the pattern, we traced these corporations), stripped it of its layers, to get to the top and through it all, we have discovered and identified at least two main actors or players in the issue of illegal drugs and illegal activities associated with POGOs,” he added.

Sought for comment, Yang’s lawyer Raymond Fortun told GMA Integrated News: “I am more interested in what they will put in the committee report to support their allegations.”

GMA News Online is trying to get comments from the others named and will publish their comment as soon as they become available.

Suarez presented a matrix of the two alleged masterminds behind the so-called criminal network.

The Quezon lawmaker said that Yang and Lim both have shares in two corporations: Paili Holdings Corporation and Paili Estate Group Corporation.

Suarez pointed out that the Paili Estate Group Corp. was the firm behind the construction of Clark Majestic World, wherein the condominium units in the development area are similar to the residential units of POGO employees.

The lawmaker also noted that Vietnamese and Chinese nationals were rescued inside the mixed-use real estate development in 2022.

But what connects Yang and Lim is the latter’s wife, Rose Nono Lin. Suarez said that Lin is an incorporator in at least eight companies where Yang is involved.

“The most obvious figure in this network of companies by Allan Lim has built is his wife Rose Nono Lin. Sinundan namin si Rose Lin…isa sa siya sa nagko-connect kay Michael Yang and Allan Lim,” said Suarez.

“Makikita po natin mamaya that Rose Nono Lin is an incorporator of at least eight companies where Michael Yang is involved in.”

The quad committee also found that Brickhartz Technology Inc. was also “owned by the tandem” of Yang and Lim. It is the customer service provider of Lim’s Xionwei Technology.

Suarez said that Brickhartz was involved in a kidnapping case in 2022.

“It was found that a woman was kidnapped in Pasay, brought to a POGO dorm where she was sold to a Chinese national,” he said.

“Binenta ang isang Pilipina sa isang Chinese national. Pagkatapos nito ay siyang binugbog, dinala sa isang Shuangma Industrial Park in Cavite, which is run by Brickhartz.”

Earlier, Senator Risa Hontiveros said that documents of Brickhartz were found inside the Baofu Land Development in Bamban, Tarlac, which is owned by dismissed town mayor Alice Guo.

Inside the Baofu compound was the POGO hub raided by authorities last March.

Meanwhile, Senior Deputy Speaker and Pampanga Rep. Aurelio Gonzales Jr. said there could be Filipinos who helped the Chinese citizens to commit their illegal activities in the country.

“Mga dayuhan po ang na-identify natin. Hindi po ito makaka-operate kung walang mga Pilipinong tumutulong,” he said.

(We just identified the foreigners involved. They cannot operate without the help of Filipinos.)

“Wala pa rin tayo sa financial links (We have yet to look into the financial links)….To completely paralyze them is to cut the financial stream.”

Hontiveros also accused the family of Yang of being part of a “massive crime syndicate.”—LDF, GMA Integrated News
