The four House committees (Quad Com) investigating the crimes linked to Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) will invite former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo as a resource person.
House public order and safety chairperson and Laguna lawmaker Dan Fernandez said the Quad Com has a standing invitation on Guo, who is also being investigated by the Senate due to her alleged ownership of the lot where a raided POGO firm is located.
It was in the Bamban POGO hub where incidents of torture of employees were recorded, among other apparent illegal activities.
House dangerous drugs panel chairperson of Surigao del Norte Ace Barbers said that the House will coordinate with the Senate for Guo’s presence in their probe.
“We will coordinate with the Senate as to her availability, so she will be able to attend our hearing on the issue of illegal POGOs,” Barbers said.
Guo was able to leave the country amid pending charges against her in connection with the Bamban POGO raid, but she has since been arrested in Indonesia.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
